Life After Coptic: Sewings for Those Who Want To Get Out of the Rut
Have you mastered the Coptic stitch, or are you looking for an alternative look? Then maybe these sessions will get you out of the box. During the Medieval period, the book was further developed by utilizing sewing supports to stiffen up the structure. This provided a slightly less wobbly book structure that opens fairly flat.
Each session will present a different Medieval sewing, and they are independent of each other. Pick the session or sessions you are interested in and register.
The Carolingian - 10;30 AM - 11:30 AM
Incorporates sewing support cords and presents an attractive herringbone pattern.
The Romanesque - 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM
Presents an overlapping wrap with unique endbands added as part of the sewing.
The Gothic - 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM
Interesting twisted leather support made from a strip of leather and also includes a simple cord endband.
All supplies and tools will be provided.
Maximum 12 participants per session.
